The owners
Since Langelinie Pavillonen re-opened in 1958 it has changed owners five times. Not many owners, when you consider the turnover frequency in the restaurant business. Kai Jørgensen, a businessman, opened the restaurant in 1958 and ran a thriving business for 20 years. In 1979 it was passed on to Ole B. Nielsen and Benno Lauridsen, veteran Copenhagen restaurateurs, who were joint owners until 1994.
Michael Laudrup, the Danish international football player, came on the scene for a brief spell after which Kirsten Kruse, Torben Jensen and Philippe Privat, took over in 1997.
In 2003 Peter and Jesper Nicolaisen took over the Pavillon. They are both known from several well known restaurants in Copenhagen such as Odd Fellow Palæet, Søpavillonen and Restaurant Bellahøj.
